Project at a glance.

The shape of the engagement and the outcome — in four lines.

Client

Canadian Firearms Academy — a family-run, government-certified firearms & hunter-education school in Surrey, BC (operating since 1994).

Industry

Education / certification · local services

Engagement

Full website rebuild, online booking & payments, brand-aligned design, technical SEO, and a complete domain + email migration — designed, built, and launched end-to-end.

Outcome

A fast, modern, fully self-serve booking site that now outperforms every direct competitor on website experience and page speed.

The challenge

Built for the next ten years, not the last.

The academy already had a working site with online booking and payments. The issue was different: as the business grew and the brand evolved, the existing platform had become rigid — changing pricing, adding new course formats, or running promotions all took longer than they should. Larger local competitors were also closing the gap on speed and SEO. The job wasn't to add what was missing; it was to rebuild on a foundation flexible enough to keep pace with the next ten years of the practice.
The approach

A platform built to flex.

We rebuilt the site from the ground up on a modern, serverless architecture — prioritizing speed, a polished on-brand look, and a booking flow the owner could actually evolve without a developer in the loop. Customers see live class availability, register themselves, pay how they prefer, and manage their own bookings, while the owner runs everything from a simple dashboard. The family's standout story — including an Olympian instructor — was moved front and centre as the brand's differentiator.
Implementation specifics, automations, and growth methodology are proprietary to NorthStack.

The takeaway

A reputation deserves a platform that can keep up.

A great reputation deserves a platform that can keep up with it. By pairing a conversion-focused redesign with a more flexible booking engine and a solid SEO foundation, the academy's site now matches the standard of its 30-year practice — and gives the team room to grow, adapt, and run new offers without rebuilding again.
